ZIMBABWE v WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Zimbabwe won last night`s 50-over match against Western Australia
at the WACA ground by 5 runs.

Playing with his broken left hand still not  knitted,  Zimbabwe`s
world-class  batsman  David  Houghton made 78 from 144 balls in a
great deal of discomfort, putting  his involvement  in   Friday`s
World  Series  game  at  risk. His entertaining knock steered the
tourists to 9-207 after they lost three wickets for four runs  at
one stage.

In reply, Mark Lavender top-scored with 58, Justin Langer made 40
and Tom Moody 36 as the home side finished on 7-202.
