Banstead CC hosted one county match, between Surrey and Cambridge University in 1984, although it is used regularly for second XI fixtures. Cricket was first played in Avenue Road in 1840. The original pavilion, built in the 1890s and once a temporary home for Barclays Bank in the nearby High Street, is still on the ground but was replaced by a more modern structure in 1970.
