Profile
Primarily an opening bat, Eric Szwarczynski started to play at 3 more regularly for his club during the 2005 season. While not a big hitter he is a fine timer of the ball and it was his consistency which caught the eye of the Dutch national selectors. Although he was born in South Africa, he represented both the Netherlands A side and their Under 23 team and featured in the 2006 ODI against Sri Lanka.
He is keen to add another string to his bow and has been working hard
with the Netherlands bowling coaches with an eye to contributing overs in the one day game and being a partnership breaker in the longer form. He models his action on Glenn McGrath and while he is unlikely to be used during the 2007 World Cup, his club are expecting him to pick up wickets for them this summer.
