Normal expat's salary for Dav Whatmore

The Daily News

Chairman of the Interim Board appointed to run Cricket in Sri Lanka, Rienzie Wijetilleke has denied newspaper reports (not in our group) that Dav Whatmore will be paid a 'princely' salary of Rs. 20 million per annum.

In a Board release Wijetilleke says: 'the terms to be agreed with Whatmore will be normal terms which any expatriate enjoys when working in Sri Lanka'.

'We also do not have to pay any compensation to Lancashire County. They have readily agreed to release Whatmore for his assignment in Sri Lanka in view of the high regard they have for our country's cricket' the release adds.
