If the TAB are accepting bets on the India-New Zealand Super Max International which will open the Indians' National Bank tour at Jade Stadium on Wednesday night, it might be worth plonking the pension on the New Zealanders.
Two years ago the West Indians, quite unfamiliar with the unusual Max rules, were slaughtered by New Zealand at Jade Stadium, and the Indians could be next in front of the firing squad.
Asked today what he knew about Max cricket, Sourav Ganguly, the Indian captain, thought for a while and said: "I think it is a ten-over game." John Wright, the Indian coach, said he had only seen Max on television - "we will just have to see how we go."
