ICC publishes official Playing Regulations Manual 2002/2003

ICC Media Release

November 28, 2002

The ICC has published its new Official Playing Regulations Manual, the definitive guide to regulations and playing conditions for Test match and One Day International cricket.

The new format replaces the 2001 Code of Conduct, Standard Playing Conditions and Other Regulations booklet. The ICC Official Playing Regulations Manual 2002/2003 has been designed to be more user friendly than its predecessor and will be distributed to all international players and coaches of Full Member countries.

New content for 2002/2003 includes:

* An updated Code of Conduct including a revised set of offences and penalties for misconduct
* Details of the simplified two stage process for the review of bowlers reported with suspect bowling actions
* Full list of members of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires and Referees
* Revised playing conditions for Test matches and One Day Internationals

The Official Playing Regulations Manual 2002/2003 also includes revised regulations for advertising on cricket equipment and clothing in international cricket and an outline of the principles of natural justice.

Other sections contain contact details for all Full Members and key ICC personnel and there are reference materials incorporating an explanation of the Duckworth/Lewis method of re-calculating the target score in an interrupted match.

Free copies of the 152-page handbook are available to accredited cricketing, sports and news media worldwide. Requests for copies should be made by sending an email containing your full postal address to jon.long@icc-cricket.com
