1996 World Cup Profile:

Golden-haired and handsome, Shane Lee has the potential to become Australia`s first genuine all-rounder since the ebullient Greg Matthews, although on the basis of his initial ODI experience, his bowling requires a little more work. His debut was in this year`s World Series Cup against a shell-shocked West Indian side, and coming in late in the innings he slashed fearlessly for an undefeated 39 in close to half as many balls. Like Kasprowicz however, Lee suffered at the hands of opposition batsmen but he possesses both the enthusiasm and raw talent to make a strong contribution to Australia`s World Cup campaign. Lee is a brisk medium-fast seamer and right-handed batsman.
