Other Physiotherapist
A familiar face around the national squad for more than two decades, Errol Alcott was the Australian team's physiotherapist until June 2006. Alcott started with the side on the 1984 tour of the Caribbean and oversaw a period of enormous change in the approach and outlook of players toward the idea of physical fitness and conditioning. He assumed a particularly important role in the development of long-term fitness plans for the side, and in the tailoring of specific routines and drills to suit each of its individual members. In the 1990s and the first half of the 2000s, the successful rehabilitations from serious injuries of Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath, Steve Waugh, who called him "the best in the business", and Jason Gillespie all had much to do with Alcott's expertise. He also worked with Russell Crowe on the movie Cinderella Man and his links with the actor led to him accepting a role with the South Sydney rugby league club. Cricinfo staff
