Wisden Cricketer Frances King, who died on September 11 aged 22 of meningococcal meningitis, played 15 ODIs for New Zealand women. She came to the national selectors' attention in 2001 playing for Wellington when she was awarded the Trish McKelvey Trophy as the most outstanding player of the national under-21 tournament.
