poor ball! Full on the pads, clipped backward of square and that seals it
Pakistan vs Australia, Only T20I at Lahore, PAK v AUS, Apr 05 2022 - Match Result
Aaron Finch has broken the record for playing the most T20Is (89) for AUS, going past David Warner
Well, that last ball was a bit of an anticlimax. Australia win by three wickets but it was actually a bit more comfortable than that. They were anchored by Aaron Finch with the rapid efforts of Travis Head, Josh Inglis and Marcus Stoinis ensuring the asking rate was never a problem. Pakistan paid for their middle order collapse which left them probably 20 short. The players go through the final handshakes of the tour. It's been played in fantastic spirit throughout.
Aaron Finch is player of the match. "Thought the way our bowlers attacked that game were fantastic. Nathan Ellis had a tough start but showed real character. Everything we do is one eye to the World Cup. There's been a lot of great performances on this tour and the whole Australia summer. To see so many young cricketers come on is super exciting. Glad we don't have to bowl to Babar anymore for a while."
And on that note I'll bring our coverage to a close at the end of this tour. There's been some very good cricket from both sides. Thanks for being with us over the last month and for all the comments and discussion. From Gnasher, Danyal, Alex, Peter and everyone else it's goodbye.
Can McDermott finish the job? Will be Rauf to bowl
stays leg side and drives firmly but straight to cover
gives himself a touch of room, manages to play a length ball to mid-off
Afridi has two balls left. Another wicket would make it very interesting. Ben Dwarshuis on international debut...
off stump out of the ground! This one isn't going quietly. Good length at off stump, through Abbott for pace
full outside off, driven to mid-off where there is another fumble. Might have been tight
beaten! Round the wicket, good length, McDermott fiddles at it
Australia not quite over the line. Sean Abbott the new batter
taken on the deep midwicket rope! Round the wicket, Finch went to whip it over the leg side and just didn't quite get it far enough. Late twist? They are checking the catch. Looks like he kept his foot just inside. Yep, all good
back of a length outside off, 140kph, angled to point
another well-timed stroke, but this drive is so straight that it smashes into the non-striker's stumps
full at the stumps, pushed down the ground
Ghalib: "This is last over of the tour. Thanks to Australia for making is memorable. Love from every Pakistani."
full outside off, driven to the sweeper
a shorter delivery and he hammers a pull backward of square. This is finishing in a hurry
full and straight, a wonderful piece of timing as he flicks it wide of mid-on. Lovely
Haris Rauf returns
Fasi: "Hey make that W pop up from somewhere" I keep pressing the button but nothing happens
full at the stumps, 117kph as Afridi keeps taking the pace off, knocked calmly into the off side
short on the pads, takes a bottom edge into midwicket
a short ball on off stump, drags the pull to midwicket
Malik Murad: "Not a good captaincy by Babar. He brought Shaheen too late."
back of a length outside off, 115kph, steered down to third
Babar's in some pain after that. Maybe a finger
full and straight, driven off the toe end to mid-off and Babar misfields to allow them a second
short of a length, slower ball, played into the off side, Finch races up for the single and has to abort
Shaheen or bust now for Pakistan?
short of a length, gets inside the line and works through midwicket, excellent weighting of the stroke allows for an easy second
