lofted over mid off! England win! A length ball, Knight backs away and lofts this powerfully over mid off who is up in the circle!
ENG Women vs AUS Women, 2nd Match at Canberra, Women's Tri, Feb 01 2020 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Match tied (ENG Women won the one-over eliminator)
England get a win after losing their first match yesterday. Great performance from Heather Knight who is Player of the Match for her career-best innings that rescued England early and then she did it again in the super over, besting Ellyse Perry with two powerful strikes. Australia looked rusty and have work to do ahead of their clash with India tomorrow.
Justin: "So why didn't Kimmince and Sutherland not continue??"
Rohit Verma: "Did Gardner not try to steal another run on a bit of overthrow on the last ball? Saving wicket for nothing??"
Thanks for your company from Canberra.
pulled wide of fine leg off the top edge! A short ball outside off, she stepped outside off and pulled it fine of the top edge and it beats Kimmince on the rope!
112kph, yorker on off, she backs away and squeezes this out to mid off for a single
full on off, she backs away and drags a drive to long on, they push for two but only get one
Knight is on strike.
Meg Lanning is not on the field for the super over. She must be injured. Not sure what then issue is. Rachael Haynes is captaining. Ellyse Perry will bowl the over. Heather Knight is the form player for England and will bat alongside Dani Wyatt.
Just 8 runs off the over. Superb bowling from Ecclestone and probably deserved at least one wicket. England need 9 runs to win.
yorker length, she digs this out to cover and they get a single only
very full, drilled back at Ecclestone who makes an amazing stop! A dot ball. Brilliant fielding with the left hand
top edge runs fine of third man! A length ball spinning away, she swings hard, gets a top edge that flies fine of third man and Glenn can't haul it in!
slower and wider, her attempted sweep misses and she's taken on the body, they run a leg bye
advances and slices a top edge high over backward point and they get back for two
appeal for stumping! It goes upstairs to the TV umpire. She advances to a length ball and tries to slog sweep but plays over the top of it. Jones takes it and whips the bails off but Healy got her bat back down just in her follow through and it's not out
Sophie Ecclestone will bowl again for England. Healy on strike.
Australia will bat first in the Super Over. Ash Gardner and Alyssa Healy will open for Australia. Odd move. Gardner faced 13 dots in 20 balls today.
